Addi's Agenda.

We took Addi to the speech therapist this week. I have been very worried about her speech for sometime now. I was shocked that the speech therapist seemed to think she wasn't all that far behind. With Addi not being able to hear until being over a year old, I thought for sure she was WAY behind. I know that I'm overly paranoid about things at times, it boils down to my needless worrying. The therapist thought that our main issue is "Addi's agenda". Basically she went on to say that Addi is very strong-willed and does what Addi wants. Getting her to stay still enough to learn and do what we want her to learn/do is going to be really tough. She gave us some good tips on ways to integrate learning into things Addi is interested in (umm... is it really possible to integrate animals sounds into Addi's interest... destroying my house, and bouncing off the walls?). Lol!

The therapist spent about an hour and a half with us, and commented more than once on how busy Addi was, and how exhausted I must be. Addie literally didn't stay still for even a second, as usual. All and all I'm really glad we went. I'm a little less stressed about her speech than I was before. Lately she really has been learning to say new words each week and understanding more every day. I really just need to relax and stop comparing what she is doing to what Aubrey was doing at her age. Something I'm obviously struggling to do. :/

First project finished.

Well not completely I just need to add the closures (buttons and loops) and it will be done. I think I got in some good practice! I am not thrilled with the results but it was definitely a learning experience which was my whole point of doing project. On to the next...

I can't catch a break.

Literally, I can't seem to get a break. My kids are so out of wack lately. Addi has been getting tired at 11AM and Aubrey just now decided she wanted to go down for her nap and it is 5:30. As soon as I put her down I hear cries from Addi and Greyson's room. Seriously? Can I not even get a second?

I usually try to prep for dinner while they nap, so I can just pop it in the oven or put it on the stove. Doesn't look like that will be happening.

Goodness, I NEED a break.

So excited!

I have been waiting forever to get back to sewing. My sewing machine had been in storage for the last 9 months, and I had found SOOO many things I wanted to make on pinterest (http://pinterest.com/mel_lyn_17/if-i-ever-sew-again/). Well I had a very small machine, my Mom had gotten it for me in college (I had never sewn a single thing in my life at that point), so she looked up reviews on good machines to start on that were very basic (so didn't have many different stitches). I am still a beginner but would like to push myself to try more difficult things. I had been looking at sewing machines online for sometime, reading reviews and hoping to find a good deal on one. Well one I had seen that had good reviews on amazon (not as good as some others, but good enough) came available on Craiglist. The person had only used it a handful of times, she had just retired and wanted a hobby. She soon found out that sewing was not going to be it. She didn't like it at all. So this machine that was $600 on Amazon she wanted $300 for it. Still WAY out of my price range. I was talking to my friend about it she convinced me to offer what my limit was. I thought the lady would be highly insulted since it was almost half as much as she wanted. I explained to her that I had been eying that machine for some time (what can I say, I thought it was so pretty lol), and really wanted it but had a strict budget. She accepted! I called Greg at work, fully expecting him to say I didn't need it and I was being ridiculous. He knows how much I love crafting and I guess he took that into consideration and said that he would get it for me for Mother's day. He went straight from work that day and got it (it wasn't even all that close)! I was so excited and so thankful to Greg that he was so sweet and went out of his way just to make me happy! That night I played around with it and made a little bag for the girls. Addi carries it around all the time. Today I started a project I saw on Pinterest (http://pinterest.com/pin/120260252521946047/). I have had to modify it but it's going decently well so far.

Does anyone recognize this towel (only a few of you would, it was of course a lot bigger before)? This was the towel I paid a pretty penny for on Kayla's bachelorette cruise, just so we could lay out without spending even more money! Worth every cent.

My Sweet Boy.

Greyson will be 7 months in just a few shorts days. I have been looking back at pictures of the girls at his age, reminiscing (see my 7 month post on Addi, http://moorecraziness.blogspot.com/2012/01/my-baby-girls.html). My babies are growing up too fast.

Greyson has been getting stronger and stronger lately. Sitting, jumping (a ton), pushing up when on his belly, finding any way possible to get to the item he desires. We have been working on eating lately. He is improving some. We do some table foods, and some purees. It sad but a lot of times I forget he can eat actual food and will skip meals. I am trying to be better, but at this point solids aren't completely necessary.
He is an awesome sleeper! He has been sleeping through the night since he was 4 months  (See more about that here... http://moorecraziness.blogspot.com/2013/01/night-1.html, http://moorecraziness.blogspot.com/2013/01/nights-2-3.html). Naps have been going well also, which has always been more of a struggle for my kids. He is napping 2-3 times a day, and still naps when we are out and about (something the girls NEVER did after they started sleeping in cribs in their own rooms).

Greyson is more vocal like Aubrey was. He is watching our mouths so closely trying to imitate what we say or do. He blows raspberries, he has been so close to saying Ma-ma a couple times, he loves to just babble in his crib in the mornings (just like Aubrey used to).

I am truly so glad we were blessed with a boy, I really feel like I would of been missing out on so much if we hadn't been. Greyson is just so cuddly, sweet, giggly, and just all around happy! He loves everyone, especially his sisters. He just lights up when he sees them. It melts my heart. :)

Being back.

We have loved being back in Jax. It has been so nice only being minutes from playdates and friends houses. We have really gotten back into the swing of things. So much so, that packing has been pushed to the wayside. Truthfully I don't even mind it. The kids have been having so much fun and have been absolutely loving our new dig and we have enough unpacked to live (well except for maybe the missing silverware, can't seem to get our hands on them), so I think we will just slowly make our way through the rest.

So. Yep. We are loving being back and really loving the new house. We are truly blessed, and are trying to appreciate each moment.
