Why can't my house ever stay clean??

I feel like I am constantly cleaning. Whenever the girls are playing nicely on their own, I clean. Whenever they are napping, I clean. I feel like it is never ending.

Greg and I discussed the fact that all the cleaning was falling to me, and he said he would try to help out. Even if he just cleaned up after dinner it would be a huge weight off my shoulders.

That discussion happened over a week and a half ago. Nothing has changed. So since Monday, I have stopped cleaning as much. I clean what I need for day to day survival. I was doing it just to see if Greg would notice or pick up the slack.

NOPE.

He hasn't even noticed. It's driving me insane, and I am the furthest thing from a neat freak, so you can imagine how bad it is.

I think I may have lost this battle.

Off to clean I go!

My baby girls!

So part of the reason I started this blog is so that I could look back on everything since my memory  went by the wayside when I became a Mama! So this may not be the most interesting post for you, but I will love to look back on it and see what my girls were up to!

Addi just turned 7 months, and she is a non-stop mover. She isn't super vocal, which I think might have to do with her cleft issue. Addi is still in 0-3 month clothing, we just unpacked all the 6 months stuff which is all for warmer weather, so hopefully she just stays in 3 months until after winter. She weighs 14lbs with clothes on, she is in the 5th percentile for weight and 15th for height.

Addi has been sleeping through the night for the past few weeks, which has been AMAZING! She naps 2-3 times a day, if its 3 she naps for 1 hour, then 1 hour, then three hours. If its two naps, its two 2-3 hour naps. I really am not as crazy about schedules because she is so easy going and naps whenever I put her down! We kind of play it by ear with her, but she usually sticks to her own schedule. She goes down for a nap an hour and a half after she wakes up, then if she only naps an hour she goes back down around 11:30, then she goes back down around 3. If it's only two naps she goes back down around 2.

Addi's eating has been a struggle, really she just has a problem with the spoon. She eats Mum-Mum's and yogurt melt like it's nobody's business but put baby food on a spoon and she gags and spits it right back out. She does a little better with solids, so we usually just mash up whatever veggies we are eating and give her some.

She just got moved into her official room yesterday night. She had been sleeping in Aubrey's big girl room in the pack and play until I was ready to bite the bullet and move Aubrey into her big girl bed. She took it all in stride. She is seriously the most awesome baby, I really couldn't not have hoped for a more easy going happy baby. She just amazes me daily!

Aubrey just turned 23 months! I can't even believe she is almost two. I have been trying to get everything together for her party, I have everything but food done. I am excited to see if she is more into it this year. She has finally started to like cake, so she might be more into that!

Aubrey is wearing 24 months and 2T, she is around 27.5 lbs which isn't much different from what she was at 18 months. I think she is just taller, since she seems to be thinning out a bit.

Aubrey is so full of personality. She makes me laugh all day long, I can't help but hug and kiss her! She is talking non-stop. She has actually started to piece sentences together, her favorites are "Where are you?" and "There it is!". She is constantly telling me what is going on with Addi (whom she calls "Annie"). She will say "Annie eat eat" (she always wants Addi to eat while she is), "Annie jump" (Addi has to be in her jumperoo while Aubrey is jumping in her trampoline), "Annie stinky, needs Elmo" (Addi's diapers have Elmo on them), "Annie night night" (she wants to make sure that Addi goes to bed at the same time as her), and so on... My favorite thing she's been saying is her name, she will talk about herself in the third person, she been doing it for a month or so now. "Aubee help", "Aubee more cereal", "Aubee tired", "Aubee go night night" "Aubee done"... its just too freakin cute!

So Aubrey's big move to her new bed, is going well! She is in there napping as I write this! She seems to really like it, and seems to already know it's her room. She went right to it when I told her it was night night time! I'll make sure to update you all!

I just love my babies, and am so blessed to have them! Can't wait for what lays ahead!

Date night!

Our date night was a bit of a mess.

We have been trying to get some alone time for a while now. Lately when we have had babysitters we have done group activities, which I LOVE but just aren't the same as some one on one time. We have had jammed packed weekends lately so fitting one in was proving to be harder than we expected.

So Greg planned an evening out to one of my favorite restaurants, Maggiano's. Our amazing friend's, Emily and Daniel, had gotten us a gift card for Christmas and ever since we couldn't wait to go! Greg had asked his Mom to babysit and had planned on us going early to beat the crowd, that of course did not happen. When we arrived the Town Center was crowed but we scored a killer spot, so we thought maybe we'd be in luck! We got there at 6:00 and there was TWO hour wait. If it had been pre-kids I would of just went shopping and waited, since we weren't exactly starving at 6:00 anyways.

We headed back to our amazing parking spot, which we were so reluctant to give up even though we obviously weren't eating there. We then headed to Carabba's, I jumped out to get our names in. It is so cut throat there. I swear people were running to the doors to get in front of others, and when I was in line a person tried to cut me off, again pre-kids I would of just let her but when I have my kids waiting at home for me, there is no way I am going to wait an extra 15 minutes because some rude lady cut me off. Needless to say I got our name in first!

Greg met me outside and was shaking like crazy. He had come down with a fever right before we were leaving. Again, pre-kids we would of just said we'd do it another night, but now that we have kids we just suck it up and have our date night, come hell or highwater. Greg of course wasn't hungry since he wasn't feeling well. So we just got an appetizer (Cozze in Bianco, my fav) and split a meal (Scallop, lump Crab and Shrimp Pasta, one of their specials). Everything was AMAZING!! I am not sure if it was amazing because I haven't had it in SO long, or if their quality of food has gotten even better!

We ended up having a lot of fun even though the odds were against us. I forgot how much I like it just being the two of us, we actually got to talk, eat, and just be a couple, instead of being Mama and Dada! AMAZING!

Beyond Sad. (may get sappy)

I don't even know where to start about how sad I am. Emily told me today that they are moving to South Florida.

I am sad that I am losing my closest friend.

I am sad that Aubrey and Logan won't grow up together.

I am sad that we won't really get to know Blake.

I am sad we won't have anymore game nights.

I am sad that we won't be able to do Chipotle Monday's.

I am sad we won't have anymore playdates.

I am sad that this will ruin the slideshow for Aubrey and Logan's wedding (had to throw a joke in there it was just getting too sad).

When I met Em, I just knew we were going to be great friends. We seemed so much a like. I don't make friends easily. I can come off as snobby or standoffish but really I am just incredibly shy when I first meet people. Once you know me though its a whole other story. Anyways, I hadn't known anybody in the area that had kids, so I was so lucky to meet her so soon after having Aubrey.

I really never imagined the future without her in my everyday life. I figured once I was an adult and people started their familys that not many people move around. I guess that is because in my town growing up that is how it was. My parents have the same friends from when I was a child until now. I feel like I have had so many friends move away, and things have never been the same.

I really don't know what I will do without her. She is one of the few people I tell anything and everything to and she just gets it. We do almost everything together, she is always up for anything (which is one of the many things I love about her). It will just be so sad with out her here.

I guess what makes me really sad, is how bad I am at keeping in touch with people once they move away. I rarley get to talk to my other friends that have moved away. I have little to no time for chatting on the phone because the girls keep me so busy (at least with Em she would be understanding when the girls are screaming into the phone). At least she is still in Florida, and we can always visit eachother.

I guess this is just part of life. It doesn't make it suck any less though. I am being a bit of a baby about this and I am sure you are thinking that I am a bit of an over-reactor (I can't help it).

I really should just be happy for them, Daniel got a promotion and that is really exciting! But all I can think about is how it affects me, and I don't like it one bit (selfish much?!). :(

Yay! We had a big day!

Addi almost crawled.

I know, I know almost crawling isn't all that exciting to you, but to me it is! Although I am surprised it is because I really don't want Addi to crawl anytime soon. Addi has mostly been moving backwards, today though she moved her arms forward once each and scooted her legs forward together. She has been up and rocking for what feels like forever, but is more realistically 3-4 weeks. I guess what excited me so much about the almost crawling, is that to me it means she isn't behind. In fact she is ahead of Aubrey in that department. Aubrey sat early (around 5 months), but crawled late (around 8 months).

ALSO...Addi got into sitting position from crawling position.

This has been something we have been working on since last week. In therapy they showed me exercises to do with her. I am not sure they have anything to do with her doing it or if its more that she is constantly trying to crawl and sit in her crib at night and in the mornings. She never stops moving, we find her sleeping with her legs in crawling position all the time belly completely off the mattress (maybe she is crawling in her dreams?)! Back to the sitting... I am excited that she got into sitting position on her own, it may have been a fluke but I don't care, it just means she has the ability!

Needless to say... I am one happy Mama!

Add another...

So we went to Addison's ENT appointment yesterday. Dr. Roy asked how feeding was going and I explained her gagging issues. He had wanted us to meet with "his" speech therapist for a while now. We had gone to another when Addison had issues with the bottle. He would rather us see "his" since he knows they specialize in cleft issues. So now we get to add another appointment to our Wednesday routine. We are up to three appointments every Wednesday.

Dr. Roy then checked out her soft cleft palate. He said we would see him in May to schedule her surgery for when she is a year old. Then in the very next breath said "I like to drag my feet on this type of surgery, we could really wait until she is 15 months". Then in the VERY next breath said "There is no rush on this because really it's only going to slightly affect her eating, but really affects her speech so we could really wait until she is 18 months". So now I am so confused at when she is really going to have it done. I guess I will just assume it will be 12 months, but hope it will be 15. I really don't want her to be too old and know what is going on.

He also said there was water in her ears, so he may be putting in tubes at the same time. She will be staying overnight to recover. I am guessing it will be another battle of getting her to eat enough so they let us go home. I am so not looking forward to spending anymore time in the hospital.

She is such a trooper! LOVE HER!

Big Baby.

How is it that when I am sick, I still have to do everything, watch the girls, make dinner, clean, change diapers, feed the girls, etc. But when Greg get sicks he turns into a big baby.

He got sent home from work because his boss did not want to get sick. Greg has caught the same cold the girls and I have been trying to get rid of for the last few weeks. He came home and went right to bed. I never EVER get to nap when I am sick. I never get time off from my "job". The other morning I tried to sleep in (had a migraine) and he woke me up saying the girls were up so I should be up (Addi was whining and Greg couldn't get her to stop), then he proceeded to go on the computer. He later apologized for doing it but too little, too late.

This is not the only time this has happened. The last time we all caught something Greg got it first, and he wouldn't change diapers or feed the girls because he "didn't want to get the girls sick". Which okay I get that, but then I got sick and all the sudden all of his worry about not getting the girls sick went out the window, so I still had to do diapers and feedings. How the heck does that work?

Very frustrating.
