I want a doppler.

I really would love a doppler, I really think I need one! I hate this stage of not feeling movement. I just want to know everything is okay. If it were up to me I would already have one, from being pregnant with Aubrey. I have tried to convince Greg every time I have been pregnant to get one, he just thinks I am crazy. I am a non-stop worrier though, so I just want piece of mind.

Although... I think maybe it's good I don't have one. I don't know how good I would be at finding the heartbeat and I would probably be calling my OB all the time freaking out that I can't find a heartbeat.

So yeah maybe I don't need one. But man do I still WANT one!

  1. I don't know if you want one at this stage in the pregnancy, since not sure if you'd actually hear a heartbeat. BUT....I had one with Kate. I was CRAZY neurotic throughout my whole pregnancy! I can't remember how far into the pregnancy I was when I got it, but I rented it through Belly Beats. It comes with gel and everything, then at the end you just send it back. It was the good kind of doppler like they use at the dr's office (not the kind from BRU...I had that one, too, but it was horrible, I could NEVER find the heartbeat.) Just something to think about for a little later in the pregnancy! :)

  2. How much was it to rent? I have read that some can pick it up as early as 9 weeks, but most are around 10 weeks. So that would be in a few days. I've been looking at the Sonoline B (3MHz), it has gotten really good reviews. It's about $55, which kind did you try from BRU?

  3. I just checked on bellybeats.com and it is $25/month...so definitely worth the peace of mind if you ask me! :) It also said that it can pick up the heartbeat between 8-10 weeks.

I can't remember the name brand of the one I got from BRU, but I ended up returning it. I just remember being so frustrated with it because it never picked up the heartbeat. (Sorry I'm not more help with that one)

Check out bellybeats.com. It was so great and made me much more relaxed, I was even able to begin to enjoy the pregnancy. Whenever I started to panic I would listen for her heartbeat and I'd feel much better (and yes, I did it multiple times a day). Then I just shipped it back after Kate was born. Worth looking into...

  4. Well I have one and I can tell you from experience that I couldn't hear Presley until the latter part of my pregnancy.
